South High hosted their 2nd annual Spooktacular on October 27th in the student parking lot. The event was heavily attended by South High students, their families, and members of the community from nearby elementary and middle schools. From 4-6 p.m., attendees could visit various informational booths hosted by community partners like the Army, C.S.U.B., and the Bakersfield Fire Department. Some of the booths hosted by South High clubs included, Medical Club selling Rice Krispie Treats, Foodies Club selling churro bowls and Readers Anonymous reading Halloween stories to kids. Additionally, Fitness Club was present, and they had a weightlifting challenge set up for students and their families to try. “I helped by hosting the Fitness Club booth. I made lots of new friends at the Spooktacular, and I even made the principal and some of the security guards lift weights.” said senior Misael Gomez. The Spooktacular was a great event to get everyone excited for the Halloween weekend!
