Boys Soccer Plays Against Alumni By: Isaac Diaz Flores (South High Senior)

On October 29th, the South High boys’ soccer program welcomed a group of alumni back to campus for a friendly game. The game started at 7:15 p.m. in Spartan Stadium and went on for the full 90 minutes of a real soccer game. Current students, past students and the families of those playing were among those in attendance. The alumni team consisted of a few players who were not only alumni but also current staff at South High, such as Ruben Gomez, Health teacher. After the whistle blew and the clock was stopped, the alumni took the win with a score of 4-1 over the students. “Both teams played well, and I think I put on a really good performance overall.” said Mathew Gomez, a senior who played in the game.
