Corwin Anthony- graduated 1986. Was an outstanding athlete at South who competed in football, basketball, track and baseball.  Received local and state recognition in football and a scholarship at UCLA. Currently is an Executive Director of Pro Ministries for AIA and oversees all chaplains serving throughout the NFL.

Judy Elkins- Early staff member who spent her entire career helping students graduate and move on to college.

Steve Faulk- Long time Special Teacher and Coach of Football, Cross Country and Track.  Became Athletic Director at North High and retired from Kern High School District.

Mark Hance- graduated 1970. Outstanding Athlete who went on to play baseball at Fresno State.  Returned to teach and coach at South High and was first head Football coach at Stockdale High.

Ron McCraw-South High English teacher from 1971 to 1978 and 1980 to 2005. Mr. McCraw had a deep impact on many Rebel students and staff. He was Jim Burke Educational Foundation Teacher of the Year.

Janelle Moser- graduated 1975. Was voted most outstanding athlete, during a time when girls’ sports were just beginning to grow within the Kern High School District. She was part of the league championship volleyball team the first two years of the sport. She was also a 4 year letterman in tennis.

Tom Tarrer- Tom was an outstanding track and cross country coach and special education teacher for over 35 yrs at South High

Tom Touchstone graduated 1976. While at South High School, Tom competed in many sports, most notably he wrestled. As a body builder, Tom was the first Mr. California to come out of Bakersfield and also the first light heavy weight class winner to knock off the heavy weight class winner to go on to win the overall title of Mr. California in 1985.

Eugene Walker- graduated 1968, Three sport athlete at South, who excelled in wrestling.  Returned to coach and teach at South as a Football and Wrestling Coach.

Doug Wicks graduated 1981, South High pole Vault record holder 15’5”1/2 still stands, SYL Champion 1980,81 Area Champion 80,81, Valley Champion 1981, California State Champion 1981.  Four sport athlete in Football, Wrestling, Track and Field and Marine Fitness team.  Outstanding career at Bakersfield College and USC.

1981 Valley Champion Boys Basketball-  Coach Hank Washington, Players Bawnisky Hambirck, Bruce Clayton, Christopher Jamison, Richard Anchondo, William Harris, Charles Dixon, Eric Baxter, Winston Crite, Kyle Starr, Dell Pullett, Darrell Dochterman, Steven Ernest and Brian Williams.
