Band Camp And Summer Information

South High School Spartan Regiment Marching Band,

 

     Hello future and current members of the SHS Spartan Regiment Marching Band. As we get closer to the beginning of the 2026-27 school year, we must begin preparing for our annual SHS Summer Band Camp. In this letter you will find a brief schedule of events, a checklist of items to bring with you, and a list of important dates to add to your calendar.

 

     First, here is a brief schedule of when the band will be meeting over summer:

 

NOTE: All band camp events will take place on SHS Campus and will begin each day at the Band Room @ 8AM.

July 27th

8AM – 4PM [11:30-12:45 Lunch Break Off-Campus]

All Returning Members

July 28th – August 7th

(excluding weekends)

8AM – 4PM [11:30-12:45 Lunch Break Off-Campus]

All Members, including rookies and returners.

Additionally, battery percussion (drumline) will be meeting every Saturday during summer (starting on May 30th) 9am-1pm and pit percussion (mallets, keyboards, guitars and bass) will be meeting every Monday (starting on June 8th ) 2:30-4:30pm

 

Second, here is a list of important dates that students will be expected to be present for. Please add the following events to your calendar.

Every Tuesday night of the fall semester, we will have an outdoor rehearsal in the stadium from 6pm-8pm.

9/26 - Saturday Rehearsal 9AM-1PM

10/3 Competition Date – Bakersfield High School Driller Showcase

10/10 Competition Date – Centennial Music in Motion

10/17 - Saturday Rehearsal 9AM-1PM

10/24 Competition Date –Stockdale Band Spectacular

10/31 - Saturday Rehearsal 9AM-1PM [Costumes encouraged!]

11/7 Competition Date – Frontier Titan Invitational

11/14 Competition Date – Northen California Championships in Vasalia, CA

 

Lastly, here is a brief list of items you will want to bring each day of camp:

  • A refillable water bottle
  • Sunscreen / sun protection
  • A hat or ball cap
  • Sunglasses
  • Athletic shoes and clothing
  • A packed lunch or money to purchase lunch Off-Campus during lunch breaks
